FORMULATION (RS555)

RS555 is an Asbestos-Free, flexible moulded, non-metallic friction material. Its material composition consists of Binders, Aramid Fibres, Mineral Fibres, Glass Fibres, Friction Modifiers, Fillers & Curatives. RS555 has a high degree of flexibility & conformity with adequate physical strength. It has good resistance to both fade and wear and is particularly suitable for bonding purposes. RS555 is also effective in overcoming braking problems like squeal, judder and grab. RS555 is suitable for use in Original Equipment.

Applications

RS555 is recommended for use in medium to heavy duty brakes of passenger cars & light commercial vehicles and for all industrial/off highway brake applications.

Bonding

RS555 may be bonded with any of the established bonding adhesives although for best results thermosetting adhesives should be used. RS555 is supplied ground on both surfaces and may be bonded on either side as required.

Recommended Mating Surface

For best performance use good quality, fine grained pearlitic cast iron or forged/cold rolled steel as mating surface with a brinell hardness of 200-230. Cast steel is not suitable as a mating surface.
