FORMULATION (RS124)

RS124 is an Asbestos-Free, flexible moulded, non-metallic friction material. Its material composition consists of Binders, Mineral Fibres, Glass Fibres, Friction Modifiers, Fillers & Curatives. It has a medium coefficient of friction combined with good mechanical properties and temperature/wear resistance. Known for its excellent heat dissipation and speed/pressure insensitivity, it is particularly suitable for bonding purposes.

Applications

RS124 is recommended for use in medium to heavy duty brakes of passenger cars & light commercial vehicles and for all industrial/off highway brake applications.

Bonding

RS124 may be bonded with any of the established bonding adhesives although for best results thermosetting adhesives should be used. RS124 is supplied ground on both surfaces and may be bonded on either side as required.

Recommended Mating Surface

For best performance use good quality, fine grained pearlitic cast iron or forged/cold rolled steel as mating surface with a brinell hardness of 200-230. Cast steel is not suitable as a mating surface.
